![]() Not the answer you want to hear, but this is the advantage and brilliance of the Mac. you will have to search out ways (not that difficult) to get a copy of Yosemite to reinstall. If you do not have a backup, Time Machine being the single best feature of OSX. A working high end Epson printer is far more valuable than a meaningless OSX "upgrade." I use Yosemite and El Capitan almost daily and only see arbitrary minor GUI changes and larger memory overhead in El Capitan without the promised benefit of updated graphics. The simplest is to roll back, presuming you have a clone or Time Machine back up, to the prior working version of OSX. Of course Microsoft answers to businesses that have clout but Apple does not have to answer to anyone (I have three machines that run OSX so I am a victim too). I do not want to ignite a flame war but Microsoft rarely does that-the Vista driver model differed from XP but has not changed since then. The driver model for El Capitan is not radically different from prior versions but Apple makes bizarre anti-consumer decisions in its programming.
